Purism
Insistence on correctness
Purism is insistence on traditional or "correct" forms in language, art, or style—often rejecting innovation, foreign influence, or popular usage.
A purist about grammar objects to split infinitives; a purist about cuisine refuses fusion dishes.
The term usually carries a hint of rigidity: His purism about jazz alienated younger musicians.
In art history, Purism was a 1920s French movement emphasizing geometric order.
