Progressive

Political reform supporter

Progressive with a capital P refers to specific political movements or parties.

The Progressive Era in American history (roughly 1890s–1920s) brought reforms in labor, suffrage, and corporate regulation.

The Progressive Party, most famously Theodore Roosevelt's 1912 Bull Moose Party, challenged the two-party system.

Today, Progressive often labels the left wing of American politics: the Progressive Caucus in Congress. (Lowercase progressive describes gradual advancement or reformist politics generally.)
