Pepita
Little Josefa, endearingly
Pepita is the edible seed of a pumpkin or squash, typically hulled and roasted.
Common in Mexican cuisine, pepitas appear in moles, salsas, and as snacks: She topped the salad with toasted pepitas.
The word is Spanish for "little seed." Pepita is also a Spanish nickname for Josefina.
