Patriot missiles
Sky defense system
Patriot missiles are American surface-to-air missiles designed to intercept incoming aircraft and ballistic missiles.
The name comes from the radar system: Phased Array Tracking Radar to Intercept on Target.
Patriots gained prominence during the Gulf War and remain central to U.S. and allied air defense systems: Ukraine has requested additional Patriot batteries.
