Northern Michigan

Mackinac Bridge region

Northern Michigan is the upper portion of Michigan's Lower Peninsula, roughly from Traverse City northward.

The region is known for forests, lakes, and resort towns that draw summer tourists and winter skiers.

Residents and visitors distinguish it from the Upper Peninsula, which is a separate landmass: We're heading up to Northern Michigan for the cherry festival.
