Nordic folklore
Viking-era oral traditions
Nordic folklore encompasses the myths, legends, and traditional beliefs of Scandinavian peoples—Norse gods like Odin and Thor, creatures like trolls and elves, and tales of the supernatural passed through generations.
The term covers both pre-Christian mythology and later folk traditions: Nordic folklore influenced much of modern fantasy literature.
