Noah's flood
Great ancient inundation
Noah's flood is the biblical deluge in which God, angered by human wickedness, inundated the earth, sparing only Noah, his family, and pairs of every animal aboard an ark.
The story appears in Genesis and has parallels in other ancient traditions.
References to Noah's flood often imply catastrophic, world-altering destruction: The basement looked like it had survived Noah's flood.
