McMurphy

McMurphy refers to Randle Patrick McMurphy, the protagonist of Ken Kesey's 1962 novel *One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest* and the 1975 film adaptation.

The character—a rebellious, charismatic man who feigns insanity to serve time in a psychiatric hospital rather than prison—has become shorthand for defiant individualism against institutional authority.

To call someone a McMurphy suggests they're a troublemaker who challenges oppressive systems: He's the McMurphy of the office, always pushing back against management.
