Mastodon
Decentralized social network
Mastodon is a decentralized social media platform launched in 2016 as an alternative to Twitter.
Unlike centralized platforms, it operates through independent servers called instances, each with its own rules and communities, all connected through a shared protocol: I moved to Mastodon after the Twitter acquisition. (Lowercase mastodon is the extinct mammal.)
