Mahi

Lunar or aquatic

Mahi is short for mahi-mahi, a large, colorful fish found in tropical and subtropical waters, prized for its firm, mild flesh: I'll have the grilled mahi with rice.

The full name mahi-mahi (Hawaiian for "strong strong") distinguishes the fish from the marine mammal also called dolphin.

On menus, mahi or mahi-mahi avoids confusion with Flipper.
