MLK Memorial
Civil rights tribute
The MLK Memorial is the Martin Luther King Jr.
Memorial in Washington, D.C., a monument honoring the civil rights leader.
Dedicated in 2011, it features a large stone sculpture of King emerging from a granite mountain, inspired by his "I Have a Dream" speech line about hewing "a stone of hope" from "a mountain of despair." We visited the MLK Memorial at sunset.
