LCD panels

Liquid crystal screens

LCD panels are flat display screens that use liquid crystal technology to produce images.

The crystals sit between layers of glass and polarizing filters, changing orientation when electricity passes through to block or allow light.

Found in computer monitors, televisions, and countless devices, LCD panels replaced bulky cathode-ray tubes as the dominant display technology.

The laptop's LCD panel cracked when I dropped it.
