Jim Hawkins

Jim Hawkins is the protagonist and narrator of Robert Louis Stevenson's *Treasure Island* (1883).

A young innkeeper's son who discovers a pirate's treasure map, he becomes the moral center of the adventure—brave but naive, loyal but impulsive.

The name has become shorthand for a plucky young hero thrust into dangerous circumstances beyond his years.
