Galloway
Southwestern Scottish district
Galloway is a region in southwestern Scotland, historically comprising the counties of Wigtownshire and Kirkcudbrightshire.
It lends its name to the Galloway cattle breed, a hardy black breed known for thriving in harsh conditions, and to the belted Galloway, distinguished by its white band around the middle.
The area is known for its rugged landscape and agricultural heritage.
The farmer raised Galloways because they could handle the rough terrain.
