Jarlsberg

Scandinavian holey cheese

Jarlsberg is a mild, semi-soft Norwegian cheese with characteristic large holes, similar to Swiss cheese but slightly sweeter and nuttier.

It melts well, making it popular for sandwiches, fondue, and cooking: I'll have turkey and Jarlsberg on rye.

Named after the Jarlsberg estate in Norway where it was developed.
