Jar Jar Binks
Jar Jar Binks is a fictional character from the Star Wars franchise, a clumsy amphibian-like alien who speaks in a distinctive pidgin dialect.
Introduced in *The Phantom Menace* (1999), the character became notorious for audience backlash, making his name shorthand for a creative misfire—an element widely seen as annoying or misjudged: That comic relief sidekick was the Jar Jar Binks of the whole movie.
