Indonesian islands
Southeast Asian archipelago
Indonesia is an archipelago of more than 17,000 islands spanning Southeast Asia and Oceania.
The major islands include Java, Sumatra, Borneo (shared with Malaysia and Brunei), Sulawesi, and New Guinea (shared with Papua New Guinea).
Bali draws tourists; the Spice Islands drew colonial powers.
We island-hopped through the Indonesian islands for three weeks.
