Ikebana
Japanese stem aesthetics
Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement, emphasizing form, line, and balance rather than mere decoration.
Unlike Western arrangements that aim for abundance, ikebana uses minimal elements—often just a few stems or branches—positioned with deliberate asymmetry.
She studied ikebana for years before teaching.
The practice is considered a meditative discipline as much as an aesthetic one.
