Huxtables
TV doctor's family
The Huxtables are the fictional African American family at the center of *The Cosby Show* (1984–1992), a sitcom depicting an upper-middle-class household headed by a doctor and a lawyer.
The name became shorthand for idealized Black family success and upward mobility: They're like the Huxtables of our neighborhood.
The show's legacy has been complicated by its star's criminal conviction.
