Hagar the Horrible

Hagar the Horrible is a comic strip character created by Dik Browne in 1973, depicting a Viking warrior whose domestic life with his nagging wife and family undercuts his fearsome reputation.

The strip runs in newspapers worldwide.

By extension, the name may describe any large, gruff man whose intimidating appearance belies a hen-pecked home life.
