Habitat for Humanity
Volunteer home-building
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that builds and renovates affordable housing for low-income families, often using volunteer labor and donated materials.
Founded in 1976, it operates internationally and typically requires recipients to contribute "sweat equity" by helping construct their own homes or others': We spent Saturday volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.
