Cuban coffee
Sweet island espresso
Cuban coffee is strong, sweet espresso made by whipping the first few drops of brewed coffee with sugar to create a thick, caramelized foam called espuma.
The foam tops the remaining espresso, producing an intensely sweet drink.
A small serving is a *cafecito*; a larger one cut with steamed milk is a *cortadito*.
Cuban coffee is central to Miami café culture and Cuban-American social life: Let's grab a Cuban coffee on Calle Ocho.
