Crohns disease
Chronic bowel condition
Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the digestive tract, most commonly the small intestine and colon.
Unlike ulcerative colitis, which affects only the colon's inner lining, Crohn's can occur anywhere from mouth to anus and penetrates deeper into bowel walls.
Symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, fatigue, and weight loss.
The cause is unknown, though genetics and immune dysfunction play roles.
She was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in her twenties.
