Charity
Virtue as name
Charity is giving help—money, goods, or time—to those in need, or an organization that does so: She donated to her favorite charity.
The word implies generosity without expectation of return.
Charity can also mean kindness or leniency in judging others: Show some charity—he's doing his best.
In religious contexts, charity is love of humanity as a virtue. (Capitalized Charity is a given name.)
