Cascade Mountains

Northwestern volcanic chain

The Cascade Mountains are a major mountain range extending from British Columbia through Washington and Oregon into northern California.

The range includes several volcanic peaks—Mount Rainier, Mount Hood, Mount St.

Helens—and forms a climatic barrier between the wet Pacific coast and the dry interior.

Often shortened to the Cascades.
