CODAs

Signing household offspring

CODAs is the plural of CODA, an acronym for Child of Deaf Adults—a hearing person raised by one or more deaf parents.

CODAs often grow up bilingual in spoken language and sign language, navigating between deaf and hearing cultures: The conference brought together CODAs from across the country.

The term is also used as an identity marker within the deaf community.
