C-clip

Curved metal keeper

A C-clip is a type of retaining ring shaped like the letter C, used to hold components on a shaft or in a housing.

The open design allows it to snap into a groove, where it stays in place but can be removed with pliers or a specialized tool.

Also called a circlip or snap ring.

The axle is held in place by a C-clip at the end.
