Buddhist tradition
Eastern spiritual path
Buddhist tradition refers to the body of teachings, practices, and customs that have developed within Buddhism over its 2,500-year history.
The phrase often distinguishes established lineages and their accumulated wisdom from modern interpretations: In the Buddhist tradition, meditation is central to spiritual development.
It can also specify a particular school: the Zen Buddhist tradition, the Theravada Buddhist tradition.
