Brandenburg Concertos
Bach's dedication pieces
The Brandenburg Concertos are a set of six instrumental works by Johann Sebastian Bach, completed in 1721 and dedicated to Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg.
They represent the pinnacle of Baroque concerto grosso form, each featuring different combinations of solo instruments against an orchestral backdrop.
The works remain central to the classical repertoire: We're performing the fifth Brandenburg tonight.
