Billboard hit

A Billboard hit is a song that has appeared on one of the music charts published by Billboard magazine, particularly the Hot 100, which ranks songs by radio airplay, sales, and streaming.

The term usually implies commercial success rather than mere chart presence: Their debut single became a Billboard hit.

A song described this way has achieved mainstream recognition in the American music industry.
