Beara Peninsula
Southwest Irish promontory
Beara Peninsula is a rugged mountainous landmass in southwest Ireland, extending into the Atlantic Ocean between Bantry Bay and the Kenmare River.
It straddles Counties Cork and Kerry, known for its dramatic coastal scenery, ancient copper mines, and sparse population.
The Beara Way walking trail circles the peninsula: We spent a week hiking the Beara Peninsula.
