Backrooms
Noclipped nightmare maze
The Backrooms is an internet horror concept describing an endless, unsettling network of empty rooms resembling generic office spaces—fluorescent lights, yellowish wallpaper, damp carpet.
The mythology holds that you can accidentally "noclip" out of reality and find yourself trapped there.
What began as a creepypasta image became an elaborate collaborative fiction with multiple "levels," hostile entities, and survival lore: I had a nightmare about being stuck in the Backrooms.
The aesthetic captures a specific dread of liminal spaces—places that feel wrong precisely because they're so mundane.
