Classic underwear brand
BVDs is a genericized trademark for men's underwear, especially snug-fitting briefs or long underwear.
The name comes from the initials of the founders of the Bradley, Voorhees & Day company, which began manufacturing underwear in the late 19th century.
The term is dated but still appears in American English: He stripped down to his BVDs.
