B-pillar

Door frame column

The B-pillar is the vertical structural post in a vehicle's frame between the front and rear side windows, supporting the roof and providing side-impact protection.

It's where seatbelts typically anchor and rear doors latch: The crash test measured how well the B-pillar held up.

Also called the center pillar.

The A-pillar frames the windshield; the C-pillar is behind the rear door.
