Apollo 12
Post-Armstrong lunar mission
Apollo 12 was the second crewed mission to land on the Moon, in November 1969.
Following Apollo 11's historic first landing four months earlier, Apollo 12 demonstrated precision landing capability by touching down near the Surveyor 3 probe.
The crew—Pete Conrad, Alan Bean, and Richard Gordon—conducted lunar surface experiments and returned with samples and parts from the earlier unmanned spacecraft.
