wrestling federation
Staged combat league
A wrestling federation is an organization that stages professional wrestling events, employing wrestlers and producing matches as entertainment.
Major federations like WWE develop storylines, characters, and rivalries that play out across televised programs and pay-per-view spectacles.
The term federation suggests a governing body, though these are entertainment companies rather than athletic associations: He signed with a wrestling federation after college.
