work slowdown
Intentional pace reduction
A work slowdown is a labor protest where employees deliberately reduce their pace or productivity without officially striking.
Unlike a walkout, workers remain on the job but perform tasks at minimum speed or follow every rule meticulously to bottleneck operations: The union organized a work slowdown after contract negotiations stalled.
