wooden tub
Staved water vessel
A wooden tub is a cylindrical container made of wooden staves bound together with hoops, traditionally used for bathing, washing, storing liquids, or fermenting.
Before modern plumbing, wooden tubs served as washtubs and bathtubs: She filled the wooden tub with hot water from the kettle.
The term now often evokes rustic or old-fashioned settings.
