wood paneling
Interior wall covering
Wood paneling is wooden boards or sheets used to cover interior walls, either for decoration or insulation.
It was especially popular in mid-twentieth-century American homes and offices, where dark-stained panels gave rooms a formal, masculine feel.
The style fell out of fashion but retains nostalgic appeal: The basement still had its original wood paneling from the seventies.
