wine flight
Varietal sampling board
A wine flight is a set of wines served together for comparison, typically three to five small pours arranged for tasting.
Flights are organized around a theme—grape variety, region, or vintage—allowing drinkers to compare and contrast: We ordered a flight of local pinot noirs.
The term borrows from flight's sense of a grouped series.
