windsor chair
Colonial American seating
A Windsor chair is a wooden chair with a solid shaped seat into which the legs and spindle back are socketed.
The design originated in 18th-century England and became popular in American colonial furniture.
Variations include the comb-back, fan-back, and bow-back styles: The farmhouse kitchen had six matching Windsor chairs around the table.
