tufted chair
Dimpled upholstered seat
A tufted chair has upholstery secured by buttons or stitches that create a pattern of indentations, giving the fabric a quilted, dimpled appearance.
The technique pulls the covering tight at regular intervals, forming raised puffs between the anchor points.
Tufting appears on many furniture styles but is particularly associated with traditional and formal pieces: a leather tufted chair in the study.
