wild mustangs
Untamed American horses
Wild mustangs are free-roaming horses of the American West, descended from Spanish horses brought by conquistadors and later escaped or released domestic stock.
Though called wild, they are technically feral—domestic animals returned to an undomesticated state.
They live in herds on public lands and carry strong symbolic weight as icons of American freedom and the frontier spirit.
