wild carrot

Daucus carota, uncultivated

Wild carrot is a flowering plant with feathery leaves and flat clusters of tiny white flowers, native to Europe and naturalized throughout North America.

It's the ancestor of cultivated carrots, though its own root is tough and inedible.

Also called Queen Anne's lace, from the lacy appearance of its flower heads.
