white pelican
Pouch-billed fish-eater
White pelican refers to either of two large waterbirds with predominantly white plumage and enormous bills with expandable throat pouches.
The American white pelican breeds on inland lakes across North America and winters along coasts, while the great white pelican inhabits parts of Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Both species are among the largest flying birds, with wingspans exceeding nine feet.
