white-eye
Ring-around-the-iris bird
A white-eye is any of various small songbirds of the family Zosteropidae, found across Africa, Asia, and Australasia, characterized by a distinctive ring of white feathers around the eye.
They're typically greenish or yellowish and feed on insects and nectar.
The term also describes the white-rimmed appearance itself: The bird's white-eye makes it easy to identify.
