A wheezer is someone or something that wheezes—makes a whistling or rattling sound while breathing.
The term often describes a person with respiratory trouble: The old wheezer couldn't climb the stairs without stopping.
In older slang, a wheezer was a joke or gag, especially a stale one that's been around so long it's short of breath.
