wet suit

Surfer's second skin

A wet suit is a close-fitting garment of neoprene rubber worn for water activities in cold conditions.

Unlike a dry suit, which keeps water out entirely, a wet suit allows a thin layer of water between skin and suit—body heat warms this layer, providing insulation.

Wet suits are standard gear for surfing, diving, and open-water swimming: I need a thicker wet suit for winter surfing.
