wedge in
Cram into place
To wedge in is to force something into a tight space, or to squeeze yourself into a crowded area: She wedged in between two passengers on the bench.
It can also mean inserting something where it barely fits, whether physically or figuratively: He managed to wedge in a quick meeting before lunch.
