water resistance
Repels liquid intrusion
Water resistance is the ability to withstand water penetration to some degree without being fully waterproof.
A water-resistant watch survives splashes but not deep submersion.
The term also describes the drag force water exerts against objects moving through it: Swimmers shave their bodies to reduce water resistance.
